Groves tells Joshua: get Mike Tyson to draw up the plan against Fury

George Groves says Anthony Joshua should seek Mike Tyson's advice for the Fury fight – and box more like Tyson. Yet he still picks Fury, possibly by knockout inside three rounds.

Former world champion George Groves has an unusual suggestion for Anthony Joshua ahead of his fight with Tyson Fury in Cardiff on December 11. "I think Anthony Joshua should bring Mike Tyson in to come up with the plan to beat Tyson Fury," Groves told Grosvenor Sport, according to the Mirror.

Joshua "could be a little bit more peekaboo, crouching, slipping, sliding, dipping", coming forward with hooks and uppercuts. Although Joshua is tall, he gives away height against Fury, and advice from a man who built his career "always being on the shorter side of things makes perfect sense to me". Tyson, however, has publicly backed Fury.

Groves still makes Fury the favourite: "Once he lands on Joshua, I think he knocks him out." There is "a strong possibility that this fight is over in the first three rounds". Fury last stopped Mariusz Wach, while Joshua got up from two knockdowns to stop Kristian Prenga.
