Pro Silver Star, owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders trademark, has sought a preliminary injunction against My Chemical Romance, Rolling Stone reported. The dispute concerns the band's performance of "Teenagers" during its Hollywood Bowl run in Los Angeles, in which dancers dressed in the famous cheerleaders' uniforms stage a mock shootout with rifles.
According to court documents, audience members and online commentators believed the dancers were the real cheerleaders. The company asks only that they not wear the uniform, saying the range of alternative costumes is "practically unlimited." The band refused and reportedly repeated the routine on Oct. 23. No statement from My Chemical Romance was quoted.
