A new trailer has been released for Cody Sheehy's documentary 'The Last Dive'. It follows US veteran Terry Kennedy, who has spent decades living on and in the water off Mexico's Baja California peninsula. According to the synopsis, the man with a troubled past found a new life through his friendship with a manta ray.

For almost two decades the 22-foot oceanic manta, which Kennedy calls 'Willy', announced their shared dives by slapping its wings against his sailboat. Now in his eighties, Kennedy makes a final trip to a remote volcanic island, hoping to see his old friend again and say goodbye.

The 88-minute film has screened at the Tribeca Festival and other festivals. According to Filmofilia, distributor Area 23a will release it in US cinemas on 10 November; no German release has been announced.
