The Tomb Raider series is celebrating its 30th birthday with a new teaser: Lara Croft’s first adventure was released in 1996. The video for the remake Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, released on 25 October, shows around a minute of gameplay according to DSOGaming, and further glimpses of story and gameplay according to Final Weapon.
Legacy of Atlantis remakes the original and is the second official remake of the classic after Tomb Raider: Anniversary in 2007. Lara searches for the Scion, an artefact from Atlantis. The game is being developed in Unreal Engine 5 by Crystal Dynamics and Flying Wild Hog and published by Amazon Game Studios. Lara is voiced this time by Alix Wilton Regan.
The remake launches on 12 February 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It was originally planned for 2026; the new date was announced at Sony’s State of Play in June. According to DSOGaming, the PC version will not use Denuvo anti-tamper technology.
