Shot, Gross own goal, assist: Wirtz drives Liverpool's 2-0 win over Brighton
Florian Wirtz was involved in both goals in the 2-0 win over Brighton – his shot went down as a Pascal Gross own goal. He needed treatment after a challenge but played down any concern.

Liverpool beat Brighton & Hove Albion 2-0 at Anfield on Sunday, with Germany international Florian Wirtz at the heart of it. His shot for the opener was deflected by Brighton's German midfielder Pascal Gross and recorded as an own goal. Minutes later Wirtz was involved in the build-up to Alexander Isak's 2-0.
Wirtz needed treatment after a challenge. According to 101 Great Goals he told the BBC he would not be sidelined; NBC Sports quotes him as saying it should be alright. There was initially no official club update with details.
On criticism of his performances, Wirtz reportedly said he just plays his football and that judging him is other people's job. Many things had not gone well in the last month, so he was all the happier that it was now working. In November Germany face Serbia and the Netherlands in the Nations League.
