Kacey Musgraves is following up “Middle of Nowhere”, released in May: on Jan. 15, 2027, the U.S. country singer will release “Middle of Nowhere Vol. 2: Tex Mex Tapes” on Lost Highway Records. The record contains 16 tracks – 11 original songs and five covers – and four of them are sung entirely in Spanish, Münster Aktuell reported; Universal Music officially announced the album on Oct. 23.
Two songs came out on Friday as a first taste: the original “Weekend In Texas” and “Mi Tesoro”, her reinterpretation of a norteño classic. The album also includes a Spanish version of “Uncertain, TX” with Mexican band Intocable – on the predecessor the song was a duet with Willie Nelson – and a live recording of “Tú Solo Tú” with Mariachi Oro de América, made in Mexico City.
Musgraves is currently on her “Middle of Nowhere Tour” across North America; both concerts on Monday and Tuesday at Seattle's Climate Pledge Arena are sold out, according to Universal Music. Glasgow, Manchester and London follow in February 2027. No dates in Germany have been announced so far.
