The Saudi-led military coalition in Yemen said on Monday it had destroyed two ballistic missile launchers in the Houthi-controlled capital, Sanaa, one of which had been used to fire a missile at Riyadh that Saudi air defenses intercepted. Coalition spokesman Maj. Gen. Turki al-Maliki said on X that operations to dismantle the "terrorist Houthi militia's" ballistic missile network would continue.

Riyadh residents received a civil defense alert at 3:42 a.m. local time warning of a possible "aerial threat," followed later by an all-clear. On Sunday, the coalition said it had intercepted a missile and a drone aimed at the Riyadh area, among other projectiles, as well as 10 ballistic missiles fired toward the south of the kingdom. Debris injured two people in Khamis Mushait and Ahad Rafidah and damaged three homes and seven vehicles.

Riyadh's King Khalid International Airport partially resumed operations on Sunday after a Houthi attack on Oct. 10 killed 13 people and wounded more than 300. Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree declared the airport a "military target" and warned airlines and travelers. The Houthis called accusations that they had targeted Mecca and Medina a "huge lie."
