OKTAGON has booked a special matchup for its 100th numbered event on December 29 at Prague's O2 Arena: England's Luke Barnatt meets Slovakia's Attila Végh at a 98 kg limit. The bout will be contested under the "Stand and Bang" format, a pure stand-up exchange. The promotion announced the pairing on Sunday, Middle Easy reports.
Barnatt, a former UFC fighter, retired in 2020 according to Agent MMA and has since worked as an English-language commentator for OKTAGON. Végh (33-11-2) was, according to OKTAGON, the first Slovak to win a Bellator world title.
No title is at stake in Barnatt vs. Végh. In the main event, middleweight champion Krzysztof Jotko defends his belt against interim champion Makhmud Muradov. Josef Hála and Vladimír Lengál will also fight for the promotion's inaugural Stand and Bang title.
