Fury on Joshua: 'He wants a final payday' – and plans to fight on himself

Tyson Fury sees the Anthony Joshua fight as his rival's final big payday. He plans to carry on himself, saying two fights remain on his contract and a trilogy with Usyk is still the goal.

Tyson Fury has spoken from his training camp about his fight with Anthony Joshua on December 11 at Cardiff's Principality Stadium. "I never thought it would happen," he told WSVN Miami, according to Sky Sports. Joshua turned the fight down "four or five times", Fury said, according to DAZN.

"At the end of his career now he wants a final payday. I'll give it to him, no problem," Fury said. He ruled out retirement for himself: "I'm going to continue. I've got two fights left on my contract." If the money is right he would "sign another 10 fights, but they've got to be quick because I'm getting older".

Fury again named a third fight with Oleksandr Usyk as his big target. "I'm 38 years old and I'm still proving all the critics wrong," he said. Sky Sports has contacted Joshua's promoter Matchroom for comment.
