Remothered: Red Nun’s Legacy from Italian studio Stormind Games launched on October 27 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It concludes the horror trilogy: protagonist Susan is searching for her daughter Agata, who has been missing for more than a year – a mysterious videotape suggests she is still alive. The trail leads to a Gothic villa and a convent. According to TheSixthAxis, the game deals with heavy themes such as childhood trauma and psychological manipulation, and the site advises discretion.
On Metacritic, the PS5 version launches with a score of 73 from four reviews. SpazioGames gives it 80, PlayStation Universe 75, GameSpew 70 and IGN Italia 65; TheSixthAxis awards the PC version 7 out of 10. Critics praise the dense atmosphere, the voice cast – including Cissy Jones as Susan and Maggie Robertson as the Red Nun – and the music by Silent Hill composer Akira Yamaoka. The story is said to bring the trilogy to a satisfying close.
The verdict on the gameplay is weaker: running and hiding adds nothing new, IGN Italia sees a clear step back from the first game, Tormented Fathers, and the stalkers create little real tension. TheSixthAxis also criticises clunky chase sequences, basic maps and a running time of under six hours with no difficulty settings or extra modes. The game is mainly recommended to players who know the earlier entries.
