Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini responded to comments by Napoli coach Massimiliano Allegri after their eventful 3-3 draw. According to Italian media, Allegri said Roma had been handed a Champions League spot last season. Speaking at his news conference ahead of Tuesday's home game against Cagliari, Gasperini said he had not read a single comment supporting that claim, calling it "decidedly unfortunate."

Gasperini is hoping to have Paulo Dybala available, possibly on the bench. Goalkeeper Mile Svilar could return next week, while Manu Koné is unlikely to be back before the international break. Roma are unbeaten in 15 league games and third with 18 points behind Inter and Lazio, who both have 22.

The ninth round starts Tuesday with Sassuolo vs. Lazio at 18:30 local time and Roma vs. Cagliari and Torino vs. Como at 20:45. On Wednesday, Napoli play at Monza likely without Allegri, who was banned for two games after his red card for disrespectful remarks to the officials; Napoli have appealed.
