Paris Saint-Germain moved to the top of Ligue 1 after beating Lyon 2-0 at Parc des Princes on Monday in a round-eight game moved from Sunday. After a scoreless first half in which Lyon goalkeeper Dominik Greif made several strong saves, two substitutes scored: Senny Mayulu with a shot into the bottom corner in the 72nd minute and Mika Godts on a counterattack in the 84th. It was Godts' first goal for PSG.
With 17 points, Paris lead Rennes by one, while Lyon are fifth with 14. It was PSG's eighth straight win in all competitions – despite the absence of Ousmane Dembélé, Marquinhos, Nuno Mendes and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who tore a cruciate ligament in the 4-2 Champions League win over Barcelona.
"It's a very important win and we dedicate it to Kvara," coach Luis Enrique told PSG TV. The substitutes showed "that they deserve to play more," he said. Goal scorer Mayulu said: "I saw the chance to shoot, so I took it."
