The Kassenärztliche Vereinigung, the association of statutory health insurance physicians, is warning of fraudulent calls that appear to come from the 116117 on-call medical hotline. Callers pose as doctors, on-call services or the association itself to obtain sensitive data, manipulating the displayed caller number.
The association stressed that 116117 staff never ask for bank or payment details.
