Deutsche Bahn has been selling its family ticket again since Monday: for 99.99 euros, up to five people can make a round trip in second class on ICE and IC trains, seat reservations included; a one-way trip costs 59.99 euros. Travel is possible from Nov. 1, and the offer, first introduced for the summer holidays, is now permanent.
One adult aged 15 or over can travel with up to four children, or two adults with up to three, regardless of family ties. There are no fixed quotas, a railway spokeswoman said, though the ticket may sell out on busy routes. Nearly 100,000 more families traveled with the family ticket or saver fares this summer than a year earlier, she said.
