Sofia City Prosecutor's Office is investigating the death of a 10-year-old boy on October 24 at Pirogov emergency hospital. The case concerns death caused by ignorance or negligent performance of an activity, which carries one to six years in prison, BTA reports. Proceedings were opened before the parents filed their complaint, prosecutors told BNT.
According to the health ministry's timeline, the boy fell from a tractor on October 24. At around 12:30 he arrived at the emergency unit in Etropole, conscious and complaining of back and abdominal pain. At 12:53 he was taken by ambulance in stable condition and was registered at Pirogov at 13:55.
His parents told BNT they waited more than two hours before he was admitted and blame the doctors. The health minister ordered a review of all circumstances, which according to BNT will run in parallel with the prosecutors' investigation.
