Australian fashion label Zimmermann presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection in Paris on 5 October. The inspiration was 19th-century scientific butterfly illustrations by Australian sisters Harriet and Helena Scott, Marie Claire Australia reports. Uma Thurman, Naomi Watts, Jessica Alba and Sarah Snook sat in the front row. The label shows the runway on YouTube.
Laser-cut butterflies appear to lift off the fabric, and skirts fall unevenly with ruffles and long trailing panels. Standouts, according to Marie Claire, were a pale yellow dress with scattered butterflies over asymmetric sheer layers and a blush one-shoulder dress. Organza, silk, lace and softened drill were layered in lemon, pink, lilac, dusky blue and denim.
Accessories included tinted sunglasses, scarves tied to handbags and flat shoes. Zimmermann also made a statement with hair: according to Bustle, the 2010s pouf made its return there. Earlier this year, the label joined the Paris Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
