Echo Weaver was released on 8 October for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2 and PC. It was developed by indie team Moonlight Kids and is published by Akupara Games. Players control the last Weaver, trapped in a time loop: every few minutes a calamity resets the world, but the map and everything learned carry over. The character uses a boomerang-like glaive, mainly to solve puzzles.
Game Informer awards 7.75 out of 10. It particularly praises the fact that many abilities are available from the start and are only discovered through experimentation, making the game feel more like a large puzzle box than a combat-heavy Metroidvania. Because progress is kept, the resets don't feel too unfair.
Criticism is directed at puzzles that leave players wandering aimlessly, the time pressure and jumping that falls short in tough sections with thorns and pits. The reviewer also ran into several bugs, mostly after fast travel. According to OpenCritic, Brazilian outlet GameBlast gives 8/10; there is no critic average yet.
