Man United squander lead against 10-man Spurs – worst start since 1986
Mbeumo scores, Bentancur is sent off, Solanke heads a late equaliser: 1-1. United have six points from six games. Carrick is "massively disappointed".

Manchester United drew 1-1 with Tottenham at Old Trafford in the Premier League on Saturday. Bryan Mbeumo put United ahead in the 73rd minute. In the 78th minute Spurs midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur was sent off for a headbutt on Luke Shaw during a melee. Dominic Solanke nevertheless headed an equaliser for the visitors in the second minute of stoppage time.
United now have six points from six league games, which Read Man Utd describes as their worst return at this stage since 1986-87. Manager Michael Carrick said, according to PA: "I am massively disappointed with the result." Fans jeered at times during the game and at the final whistle.
Sky Sports describes this as a defining period for Carrick and says the team must correct its underperformance quickly. United visit Leeds United on Sunday, 18 October.
