Murat Gassiev has publicly challenged Anthony Joshua. In a clip posted by BoxingScene on Instagram, the WBA heavyweight champion said, according to Boxing News: "Hi, Anthony. I heard you want to fight me. Let's do it. I'm ready. Anytime, anywhere. See you."
Joshua had indicated he would welcome a fight with Gassiev in 2027, Boxing News reports – after his bout with Tyson Fury on 11 December in Cardiff. That fight is reportedly for the WBA 'super' title, which undermines Gassiev's standing as regular champion.
Gassiev is in demand among the heavyweights: according to US reporter Dan Rafael, Deontay Wilder's camp has also held talks about facing him. Gassiev last defended his title in July with a sixth-round stoppage of Peter Kadiru.
