Swiss unemployment holds at 3.0% in September but is up on a year ago
Switzerland had 140,480 people out of work, 0.8% fewer than in August but 5.4% more than a year earlier. Vacancies rose 18.3% year on year.

Swiss unemployment held at 3.0% in September, according to figures published on Oct. 6 by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO). There were 140,480 people out of work, 1,064 or 0.8% fewer than in August but 7,247 or 5.4% more than in September 2025. The seasonally adjusted rate was 3.1%.
Youth unemployment among 15- to 24-year-olds fell 0.1 percentage point to 3.3%. Vacancies registered with job centres rose to 44,199, up 1.1% on the month and 18.3% on the year. The number of job seekers was 227,592, a rate of 4.8%.
