PFL Africa in Casablanca: Kane stops Medkouri, finalists for Kigali confirmed

Abdoulaye Kane won the heavyweight main event in round one with elbows. In the semifinals, five fighters booked their place in the finals, while a sixth advanced without fighting.

At the PFL's first event in Morocco, Abdoulaye Kane won Saturday night's main event against Badr Medkouri in Casablanca. According to Sherdog, Kane ended the heavyweight bout at the sold-out Mohammed V Sports Complex with elbows at 4:06 of the first round. At featherweight, Yanis Ghemmouri beat Taha Bendaoud by unanimous decision.

In the welterweight semifinals, Shido Boris Esperança stopped Peace Nguphane after 1:03 and David Samuel beat Rivaldo Pereira by unanimous decision. At lightweight, Patrick Ocheme knocked out Cornel Thompson with a body kick; Demba Seck vs. Hussain Al Kurdi was ruled a no contest after 37 seconds because of an accidental knee to the groin, but Seck still advances to the final. At bantamweight, Dwight Joseph beat Boule Godogo by split decision.

According to MMA Sucka, the finals will take place on December 12 in Kigali, Rwanda: Esperança vs. Samuel, Ocheme vs. Seck and Joseph vs. Raphael Uchegbu, who advanced without fighting after his opponent Karim Henniene withdrew during fight week. According to SB Nation, $100,000 in prize money is at stake in each of the three divisions.
