On the final day of Paris women's fashion week, 6 October, Pierre Cardin presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection. The setting was a Paris ice rink: models walked along its edge while figure skaters spun through their routines. The show video can be watched on YouTube.
Designer Rodrigo Basilicati-Cardin reworks the house's futuristic codes. NOWFASHION counted 54 looks. The opener was a high-sheen black catsuit with reflective silver panels and exaggerated square shoulders. Latex, bonded jerseys and lightweight foams followed, along with sculptural hip extensions, circular waist pieces, high necklines and wide-leg trousers. Standouts included a yellow latex bodysuit with a purple skirt, a bright green circular crop set and a purple and red hooded coat.
The colours – yellow, violet, magenta, lime green and cerulean against black and white – meet at hard edges rather than blending. Basilicati-Cardin also mixed sportswear into the collection. His motto, as quoted by Go Fug Yourself citing WWD: "We have to be comfortable, we can be elegant."
