Berlin Burlesque Festival opens its 14th edition on Thursday with global line-up
From 15 October, the Berlin Burlesque Festival stages three nights of variety, dance and live music at Heimathafen Neukölln and the Wintergarten Varieté.

The Berlin Burlesque Festival is entering its 14th international edition. It opens on Thursday, 15 October, with “The Grand Opening” at Heimathafen Neukölln, followed there by “The Friday Night”. On Saturday, 17 October, the festival moves to the Wintergarten Varieté on Potsdamer Straße. Host Jack Woodhead presents the opening night, accompanied by jazz band The Sazerac Swingers. The festival, first held in 2013, is produced by Marlene von Steenvag and Max Oestersötebier.
RCRmagazin has published the opening-night cast: Fifi Fantôme (Canada), Joona Bae (South Korea), Apolo D'Vino (Switzerland), Ilé Poikela (Finland) and Bob'beyonce (USA), plus La Rubinia, Marie la Perle and the duo Kittie & Purry Mooncat from Germany. Overall, the programme features performers from Europe, the Americas, Asia and Australia.
The festival also presents its Surprise Awards, whose winners are chosen each year by a secret committee; there is no application process. The official 2023 trailer on the festival's YouTube channel offers an impression of earlier editions.
