Berlin fashion house Mientus is closing after almost 90 years. According to the Berliner Zeitung, the business will be wound down by the end of June 2027. A clearance sale starts at Kurfürstendamm 52 on 4 November, and that store will close on 30 January 2027. The flagship on Wilmersdorfer Straße 73 stays open through autumn and winter, with its clearance sale starting in March 2027. Staff had been informed in June, the paper reported.

The company was founded in Oppeln (Opole) in 1937 by Michael Mientus; it has been on Wilmersdorfer Straße since 1958 and on Kurfürstendamm since 1972. "Conditions for independent multi-brand fashion retail have changed profoundly in recent years," the company said, according to FashionUnited. TextilWirtschaft first reported the closure.
