Borussia Mönchengladbach want to extend attacking prospect Wael Mohya's contract beyond 2028, according to Sky Sport. The 17-year-old would see his salary doubled to about 2 million euros a year. His base pay currently stands at around 600,000 to 700,000 euros, rising to just over 1 million with bonuses, Sky reported.
The move comes amid interest from bigger clubs. According to the podcast Bayern Insider, Bayern Munich board member for sport Max Eberl and sporting director Christoph Freund have contacted the player's camp about his contract. Sky also linked Bayer Leverkusen, Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig with Mohya. The clubs have not commented publicly on the reports.
The Germany under-21 international has played in all nine of Gladbach's competitive games this season. He scored one goal and set up another in the win at Stuttgart, Gladbach's first Bundesliga victory of the campaign.
