Eintracht Frankfurt has redistributed responsibilities in its sporting leadership following the exit of sporting chief Markus Krösche. Sporting director Timmo Hardung immediately takes charge of the youth academy and the medical department and will prepare for the winter transfer window. "Timmo Hardung has been tasked, until further notice, with leading all sporting units in men's football," said CEO Axel Hellmann, who is filling Krösche's board role on an interim basis. Former captain Sebastian Rode will work more closely with the team from Nov. 1.
Krösche was released at his own request in mid-October and has been linked in media reports with AC Milan. Hessian broadcaster hr has named Joti Chatzialexiou, the sporting director of second-division Nuremberg, as Frankfurt's preferred successor. He is under contract there until 2028. Bild reported that a first offer from Frankfurt is expected, while Nuremberg has been noncommittal. No move has been confirmed.
Frankfurt host Hamburger SV in the Bundesliga on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. local time, days after beating Hamburg in the German Cup.
