A fire at a commercial site in Berlin's Neukölln district triggered a major fire brigade operation on Friday morning. A stack of pallets covering about 800 square metres burned on an open area, with flames several metres high visible from afar.

Up to 85 emergency personnel were at the scene at the peak. A spokesperson said the fire was under control and had been prevented from spreading to a nearby warehouse. No one was injured.

Most of the crews have since left, while remaining embers are being extinguished.
