Nicolò Tresoldi remains the striker of the moment. In Club Brugge's 3-2 win over Sint-Truiden at the weekend, the 22-year-old scored all three goals – already his third hat-trick in 26 days. The former Hannover player now has twelve goals in 14 competitive games this season, including three in the 4-3 Champions League win at Inter Milan.

A January move appears to be out of the question for Brugge. According to Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad, an unnamed board member described Tresoldi as not for sale, saying offers in the coming transfer window were completely irrelevant. Media reports link Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal, Barcelona and AC Milan, among others, with the forward, whose contract runs until June 2029. That interest has not been confirmed.

Tresoldi is also in demand at international level: born in Italy, the striker has held German citizenship since 2022 and could play for Germany or Italy. He has scored 16 goals in 27 games for Germany's Under-21s, according to Goal.com. He intends to decide on his senior international future only after next summer's Under-21 European Championship. Head coach Jürgen Klopp recently stressed that Germany “don't have to run after anyone”.
