Netflix has released the first official trailer for "Allen", the first locally produced live-action feature from Brisbane's Ludo Studio, the company behind the global hit animated series "Bluey". T.J. Power plays Petey, who as a boy in Queensland lost his best friend, an alien named Allen, who vanished without saying goodbye. Twenty years later Allen returns with a secret that could change the world, and Petey has to grow up to help.
The film is directed by Daley Pearson, who created the story, and Jeffrey Walker; Pearson wrote the screenplay with Sophie Miller. The cast also includes Charlotte Nicdao, Josh Helman, Emily Barclay and Benedict Hardie. It was shot in Brisbane and on the Gold Coast with support from Screen Queensland. Pearson describes "Allen" as a film about love, family and childhood moments, made for families to watch together.
"Allen" streams globally on Netflix from November 12, 2026.
