Ozzy Osbourne and Black Sabbath's farewell concert is coming to the big screen and to home shelves. 'Back to the Beginning' took place on 5 July 2025 at Villa Park in Birmingham, organised by Sharon Osbourne with musical direction from Tom Morello. According to NME, the night raised around £11 million for charity. Ozzy Osbourne died 17 days after the show, aged 76. The concert film has been on a limited run in cinemas worldwide since Wednesday 28 October – in Bulgaria, according to WeRock.bg, on 28 and 29 October.
On 11 December the recording is released on 4K UHD and HD Blu-ray, paired with one CD or two LPs, as well as digitally, including in Dolby Atmos. According to Consequence the Blu-ray runs about three and a half hours and, alongside the final Ozzy and Black Sabbath sets, includes performances by Metallica, Guns N' Roses, Tool, Slayer and Pantera. Bonus material includes Jack Black performing 'Mr. Crowley', Fred Durst singing 'Changes', the documentary 'Sounds of Birmingham' and, according to NME, video tributes from Dolly Parton, AC/DC and Ricky Gervais.
A deluxe box set follows on 23 April 2027 with three Blu-rays, two CDs, three LPs, a 72-page hardback book and an Ozzy pendant necklace. "Back to the Beginning was a once-in-a-lifetime event that will go down in music history," said Sharon Osbourne. According to Consequence, Ozzy had suffered chronic pain in his final six years and wanted one last performance to thank the fans and say goodbye.
