Half of the quarterfinal spots at the League of Legends World Championship in the United States have now been filled. In round four of the Swiss stage in Allen, Texas, T1, South Korea's third seed, beat Movistar KOI of Europe's LEC 2-0 to move to three wins and one loss. Game one lasted around 40 minutes: KOI led early, but T1 turned the match after a team fight and Baron Nashor. T1 wrapped up game two in 25 minutes. Invictus Gaming beat LYON 2-1 to become the first Chinese team to reach the knockout stage.

South Korean teams Gen.G and Dplus KIA had already qualified with three wins and no losses, meaning three teams from Korea's LCK are now in the quarterfinals. Movistar KOI and LYON drop to 2-2 and still need one more win. The Swiss stage runs until 31 October; among the remaining fixtures, G2 Esports face Hanwha Life Esports.

The quarterfinals and semifinals will also be played in Allen, from 3 to 8 November. The final takes place on 14 November at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York, which holds around 19,000 spectators.
