Bournemouth reached the quarterfinals of the English League Cup by beating Aston Villa 3-0 on Wednesday night under German coach Marco Rose. Adli scored in the seventh minute, Lewis Cook added a second in the 51st after an error by Villa goalkeeper Bizot, and Alvaro Rodriguez completed the scoring in the 69th. It was Bournemouth's fifth straight win and their first quarterfinal since the 2018-19 season.

"Clean sheet and three goals again - I could get used to it, but it's hard work," Rose told Sky Sports. Villa coach Unai Emery said: "We weren't clinical." Sunderland also advanced with a 3-2 win over Brentford, and Crystal Palace won 1-0 at Fulham.

The draw, held later on Wednesday night, sends Bournemouth to Liverpool. Third-tier Bradford City host Manchester City, and Crystal Palace face Sunderland. Fourth-tier Fleetwood Town, who knocked out Arsenal, will play the winner of Thursday night's game between Everton and Newcastle. The quarterfinals are scheduled for the week of Dec. 14.
