Juventus' Serie A slump continued on Wednesday with a 2-0 loss at Genoa. Kingsley Ehizibue scored in the 12th minute from a Tommaso Baldanzi cross, and Baldanzi doubled the lead in the 28th. It was a second straight win for Genoa and coach Daniele De Rossi, who once played under Luciano Spalletti at Roma.
Juventus only created good chances late: Pierre Kalulu missed from close range shortly after halftime, and Teun Koopmeiners hit the crossbar with a free kick in stoppage time. It was Juventus' third loss in nine league games, leaving them on 14 points.
"We have to apologize to the fans for this performance, first and foremost," Spalletti told DAZN. He still sees himself as the right coach: "I think I'm still the right man to lift this group." Juventus visit Napoli on Sunday.
