Schalke 04 has reduced its net financial debt below 100 million euros for the first time since 2017. The club's results for the 2025-26 fiscal year, released Friday, showed net debt of 97.9 million euros as of June 30, down from 110.8 million. Schalke reported a profit of 0.2 million euros on revenue of 152.6 million euros, compared with 157.9 million a year earlier. Cash rose to 24.4 million euros, while negative equity stands at 97.2 million euros.
"Net financial debt is still at a high level," finance board member Christina Rühl-Hamers said. The club expects sharply higher revenue and a profit in the mid-single-digit millions this season.
On the field, the promoted club has slipped to 16th place after seven rounds and is winless in five competitive games. "We are in a difficult phase, but we knew it would come," coach Miron Muslic said ahead of Saturday's home match against RB Leipzig.
