Bayern Munich play third-placed Freiburg on Sunday (1630 GMT) without head coach Vincent Kompany, who collapsed on Friday and remains in hospital. Assistant Aaron Danks will take charge “until further notice,” the club said.
Captain Manuel Neuer is also out with a persistent tendon irritation in his foot, with Jonas Urbig expected to start in goal. Joshua Kimmich is absent following the death of his father, while Kim Min-jae, Luis Díaz and Jamal Musiala are injured. Michael Olise returns from suspension.
Bayern are second on 14 points, one ahead of Freiburg. Borussia Dortmund went top on Saturday with 17 points after a 1-0 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. “Everyone is worried. But as a group we will be there for each other,” sporting director Max Eberl said.
