Barcelona host Real Madrid at Camp Nou on Sunday (2000 GMT) in the first Clásico of the season, in La Liga's 10th round. Hansi Flick's side have won all nine league games and top the standings, though they lost 4-2 at Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League on Tuesday.
Real are without Vinícius Júnior, who was banned for four league games by the Spanish federation after his sending-off against Villarreal for violent conduct and protesting to the referee. Barcelona are missing Dani Olmo, who the club said has a left adductor injury and will be out for about a month.
José Mourinho's Real have won all four of their games in October, most recently 4-1 against RB Leipzig in the Champions League. Kylian Mbappé leads their scoring with 12 goals. “We are in good form, but these matches are different, and what you've done before doesn't matter,” Mourinho said.
