Ukraine has imposed new sanctions on suppliers to Russia's defense industry. A first list includes 51 Russian citizens and 44 companies allegedly supplying materials, equipment and tools for long-range missiles such as the Iskander, Kalibr, Kh-101 and Kinzhal, according to the presidential office. A second list names 32 individuals and 35 companies in supply chains for military equipment, including aircraft, armored vehicles and drones.
Russian aluminum producer Rusal is also targeted. It allegedly imported alumina worth 150 million rubles (about $1.8 million) between April 2024 and March 2025 that went to the defense sector. Sanctions commissioner Vladyslav Vlasiuk said Ukraine is “systematically” identifying companies involved in weapons production and sanctioning them, adding that work is under way to extend the measures to other countries.
According to Ukraine's military intelligence agency HUR, Russia produces about 10,000 drones a month and is stockpiling some 700 ballistic missiles. A U.N. monitoring mission counted at least 328 civilians killed and 2,105 injured in Ukraine in September – the deadliest September since the start of the full-scale invasion.
