Werder Bremen won 3-2 at Mainz 05 in the Bundesliga's seventh round on Saturday. Niclas Fullkrug scored from the penalty spot in the seventh minute after Stefan Posch fouled Arthur, and converted a second penalty in the 25th after Danny da Costa brought down Marco Grull.

Anthony Caci headed Mainz back into the game in the 33rd minute. Ludovit Reis restored the two-goal cushion with a deflected shot in the 61st, but Lee Jae-sung pulled one back with a header two minutes later. In the 81st minute, Bremen goalkeeper Karl Hein denied Nadiem Amiri.

Fullkrug has now scored in six consecutive league games, SRF reported. Mainz, who have won all three of their away games, lost at home for the third time in a row.
