Three unidentified men attacked a bar employee in Berlin's Neukölln district early Saturday after she refused them entry, police said. The incident happened at around 3:40 a.m. The woman suffered facial injuries.
Two men came to her aid, and one briefly held two of the alleged attackers before they broke free and fled. The group then returned; both helpers suffered stab wounds, including to the leg and buttocks. Guests and officers gave first aid, and both men underwent surgery in hospital. Police said their lives were not in danger.
A search for the attackers has so far been unsuccessful. Criminal investigators have taken over the case. No motive has been officially stated.
