Harvest Moon: Echoes of Teradea has been out since 15 October on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch 2, Switch and PC, from €49.99. It was developed by Natsume together with IMAGICA GEEQ. There is no OpenCritic average yet, and scores are split: RPGamer gives it 4 out of 5, The Outerhaven 3.5 out of 5 and PS4Blog 8.5 out of 10, while Game8 awards just 52 out of 100. According to GamePro, around 64 percent of Steam user reviews were positive after four days.
Wolves have trapped the people of Bloomfield; to save the guardian spirit trees, players collect “Happilia” by helping villagers through farming, gathering, crafting, cooking and taming animals. Storms and earthquakes add time pressure. The Outerhaven praises the addictive gameplay loop, the many animals and the amount of content, while LadiesGamers highlights the attractive visuals, the character creator and camping in the wild.
On Switch 2, The Outerhaven found stuttering and frame drops, especially during weather effects, and advises against that version for now. Reviewers also criticise the lack of mouse controls on PC, unreliable quest tracking, long loading times and a sluggish camera. The verdict: a cosy, content-rich farming game that does not reinvent the genre.
