Amazon MGM Studios has released a second trailer for 'I Play Rocky'. Peter Farrelly ('Green Book') directs from a script by Peter Gamble. Anthony Ippolito plays the young Sylvester Stallone, alongside AnnaSophia Robb as Stallone's wife Sasha, Matt Dillon as his father and Stephan James as Carl Weathers.
The film tells how, in the mid-1970s, the penniless actor and writer wants to sell his 'Rocky' script to a studio – but only on condition that he plays the lead himself. The new trailer focuses on the negotiations and rejections: the producers want a known star, while Stallone turns down a large sum and bets everything on one card.
'I Play Rocky' premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival in September. In the US it opens in select cinemas on 6 November and nationwide from 20 November – in time for the 50th anniversary of the 1976 original.
