Rebel Wolves and Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe have released the first major update for The Blood of Dawnwalker. Version 1.1 is out for free on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S and, according to the publisher, includes more than 1,100 other improvements and fixes alongside new features. The RPG from the studio of former Witcher developers launched on 3 September.

New is a potion that lets players reset and reallocate abilities from swordmastery, witchcraft and vampirism. The previous Story difficulty is now called Forgiving, with a new Story mode with combat assistance below it. Also added are larger subtitles, a buyback option at merchants, controller deadzone and frame generation settings, and the ability to pet dogs and cats.

Combat animations, camera and targeting have been reworked; abilities such as Shadowstep and Planeshift are more responsive, and wolves and boars have less health at higher levels. Quest blockers, crashes, infinite loading screens and performance drops have also been fixed. The Japanese Steam version no longer censors blood and gore. As a known issue, the studio lists possible crashes when enabling frame generation on an AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT.
