Sony Pictures Classics has released the first trailer for 'Bunker', the new film from Florian Zeller ('The Father'), who also wrote the screenplay. Javier Bardem and Penélope Cruz play a married couple, with Paul Dano, Stephen Graham and Patrick Schwarzenegger also in the cast.
The story: London architect Miguel accepts a lucrative commission to design a survivalist bunker for a tech billionaire. The project draws him and his wife Sofia ever deeper into a world of extreme wealth, paranoia and fear – and Sofia begins to question their 17-year relationship. An unsettling neighbour heightens the tension.
The film premiered in Venice in September and has since screened in Toronto and London, among others. In the US it opens nationwide on 15 January 2027 after a short awards-qualifying run from 11 December, and in the UK and Ireland on 19 February. According to kino.de, a German release is planned for 2027.
