Cyberpunk 2077: big free Update 2.5 brings console mods and dual-wielding

Almost six years after launch, Cyberpunk 2077 is getting another major free update. According to CD Projekt Red, version 2.5 arrives on 22 October and is tied to the second season of the anime series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The studio presented the details in a REDstreams livestream the day before. Additions include the side quest Clampdown, set before the events of season two, a radio station playing music from the series and further side content.
In gameplay terms, a new perk in the Cool skill tree lets players wield two pistols or revolvers at once. Cyberware such as Mantis Blades or Gorilla Arms can be restyled, and V gets extra hairstyles and outfits. For the first time there is cross-platform mod support via mod.io – on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as well as PC and Mac; modded console saves cannot earn trophies or achievements, however.
Quality-of-life features include saves grouped by playthrough and a field-of-view slider on consoles, alongside technical additions such as DLSS 4.5 support and PS5 Pro optimisations. According to the patch notes, fixes include a save error on Switch 2 and HDR settings that had no effect on PS5.
