Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang delivered the keynote at the GTC Berlin developer conference at the city's Tempodrom on Wednesday. He said the chipmaker invested nearly $10 billion in European startups and partnerships in the last year alone and has more than 12,000 partnerships across the continent. Berlin was the final stop of a European tour that previously took him to France, Britain and Sweden.
The centrepiece was the DSX Pod, a factory-integrated system for AI data centres based on the Vera Rubin NVL72 platform and shipped in transportable containers. According to Huang, the time from delivery to operation should fall from four to five months to about one month. "Vera Rubin is in full production," he said of the new chip generation.
Together with Munich-based Agile Robots, Nvidia also presented the Agile ONE reference humanoid, which is due to be available in the first quarter of next year. Huang cited Siemens and Volkswagen among examples of industrial AI. For its Hyperion automated-driving platform, he announced vehicles from Volkswagen, JLR, Volvo and Mercedes-Benz.
