Lionsgate has released the official trailer for 'Above the Below'. Idris Elba co-directs the British survival thriller with Martin Owen and also plays the lead. The film opens in US cinemas on 4 December and, according to Phantastik-News, in Germany a day earlier on 3 December.
The story: three astronauts survive a chaotic return to Earth, but their capsule is forced off course and sinks to the bottom of the ocean. Cut off from contact and with oxygen running low, a race against time begins – and the crew must decide who will risk the journey to the surface.
Elba plays mission commander Jackson, Caitlin FitzGerald co-pilot Brooks and Hero Fiennes Tiffin first-timer Rhodes. The screenplay is by Elizabeth Morris, Matt Mitchell and Vicki Sargent.
