Paris Saint-Germain will be without Khvicha Kvaratskhelia for months after their 4-2 Champions League win over Barcelona. The club said the Georgia winger tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee and will undergo surgery in the coming days. The 25-year-old went down without contact on Tuesday night and was replaced shortly before the hour mark.
The holders are also without Ousmane Dembélé and captain Marquinhos. Both suffered thigh injuries and will be out for several weeks, according to the club. Dembélé had clutched his left thigh as early as the 19th minute.
The injuries come at a bad time for PSG, who host Lyon in Ligue 1 on Sunday with both sides level on points at the top. Kvaratskhelia is also among the contenders for the Ballon d'Or, which will be awarded on Monday.
