Matchroom boss Eddie Hearn has stepped up his dispute with UFC chief Dana White over the Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua fight. “Sela has confirmed to us in writing that Dana White and the UFC are not doing the production for this show,” Hearn said in an iFL TV interview on 20 October, as reported by SB Nation and MiddleEasy. Whisper, the company behind Fury's fight with Arslanbek Makhmudov, holds the contract for the Netflix production, he said.
“Under our contract, he can't,” Hearn said of White, who had previously said he would produce the event. Hearn added that he was “open to a conversation” about changing the production contract, but what mattered more to him was that “I won our battle” – keeping the fight out of America. According to MiddleEasy, Hearn did not publicly show the written confirmation.
Fury and Joshua meet on 11 December at the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, live on Netflix.
