EA Sports is bringing back its Fight Night boxing series. On Tuesday, the official @EASPORTSFN account posted on X: "To everyone who stayed in our corner: Fight Night is coming back." EA did not initially reveal platforms, a release date or any details about the game.
The most recent instalment, Fight Night Champion, was released in 2011. EA then focused on its UFC series, releasing five entries between 2014 and 2026. According to VGC, licensing costs for individual boxers' likenesses played a part, while EA was able to sign a blanket deal for UFC fighters.
The announcement follows the completion of EA's takeover by a consortium led by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF). Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn said back in 2020 that he had pitched a Fight Night idea to EA Sports.
