Saúl ‘Canelo’ Álvarez is set to earn $100 million for his fight with WBC champion Christian Mbilli in Riyadh on 31 October, Mexican newspaper Excélsior reports, citing ESPN journalist Salvador Rodríguez. The sum is said to be part of a four-fight deal with Saudi Arabia's entertainment authority (Riyadh Season); according to Excélsior, it would be Canelo's second-biggest purse.
The figure has not been officially confirmed. According to Excélsior, other insiders put the guarantee much lower, at around $47 million. No figure has been reported for Mbilli's purse.
The 36-year-old Mexican fights in Riyadh for the first time since his defeat to Terence Crawford in September 2025, when he lost his super middleweight titles. The unbeaten Mbilli is the WBC super middleweight champion. In Mexico, the fight will be shown by DAZN (pay-per-view) and TV Azteca.
